Students for Life of America

Equipping the Pro-Life Generation

Hey! I'm the president @ my college's Students for Life chapter. We have several members on our Facebook group, but I would like students to actually get involved! Any suggestions for appealing activites?

Pro-Life Vanguard at the University of Delaware loves to do sign waves! Honestly, the best turn outs we have are for this event.
Here's what we do:
We stand on Main Street, which runs straight through Newark, our college town, and hold homemade signs that say things like: Abortion Hurts Women, Honk If You Oppose Abortion, Abortion Is Not Our Liberation. Abortion Lets Men Escape Responsibility.

We usually stand out there starting at 6pm (high traffic time; everyone's coming home from work. plus most people's classes are over) and usually go to 7pm. We have the sign waves once a week, but we always change the day so if people can't make one day of the week, they'll have other days when they can participate.

If you want more information, check out my blog post about it: http://prolifevanguard.wordpress.com/2009/03/11/main-street-sign-wa...

Hope this helps : )

Build your own website -- outside of Facebook. HAVE MEETINGS.
Sorry, folks I think I posted here by mistake :(

We're just getting started here at Boise State too (I'm the vice president), so I've been thinking hard about what we can do too. Maybe for your first meeting you can advertise that there will be free pizza at that meeting (other campus groups do that a lot, it seems to be very successful, for obvious reasons). Another idea is chalking your campus so that everywhere people go they see advertisements for your club. Another similar idea is Abort73.com's "campus blitz": http://www.abort73.com/?/the_abort73_campus_blitz/
